When They Can't Use You, They Run Away

It’s always the same, isn’t it? People come into your life like a butterfly, fluttering around you with sweet words and promises. At first, everything feels magical, and you think they genuinely care. But then, slowly, you begin to see through it. They’re not here because they care about you, they’re here because they want something from you.

They try to mold you into what they want you to be, or worse, use you to fulfill their desires. They’ll praise you when it suits them, make you feel like you’re the center of their world. But once you realize you’re just a tool to get what they want, something shifts.

And that’s when the façade starts to crumble. They start blaming you for things that were once compliments. The praise turns into criticism, and suddenly, you're the problem. You’re “bossy,” “dominant,” “arrogant,” or “self-obsessed”—anything they can say to make you feel like you're the one at fault. The truth is, they can’t manipulate you anymore, and they don’t like that.

The moment they realize you can’t be used for their desires, they disappear. Like a shadow, they vanish from your life, leaving behind nothing but hurtful words and an empty space where something beautiful could’ve been.

But when you think about it, these same people find flaws in everyone around them—even in the ones who’ve given them everything: their parents, the ones who fed them, educated them, and made them who they are. If they can’t appreciate that, imagine what they’d think of you.

It’s painful, but it’s a lesson in knowing your worth. Don’t let anyone pull you into their desires. If they can’t accept you for who you are, let them walk away. Your life, your values, and your self-respect are more important than any fleeting relationship built on manipulation.

"Some people love you as long as you serve their story. The moment you write your own, they call it arrogance."
